It widely accepted that the American domestic turkey is a kosher avian species. But what about the bird known as "the Eastern Wild turkey?" Join Rabbi Chaim Loike, a Rabbinic Coordinator with OU Kashruth widely-recognized for his vast expertise in the kashruth of birds, for a unique discussion of hands-on halachic exploration. Are these two turkeys from the same species? Originally from Australia, Rabbi Mordechai Becher is a Senior Lecturer for the Gateways Organization. He lectured at Ohr Somayach College in Jerusalem for 15 years, served in the Israel Defense Forces and taught in training programs for rabbis and educators. Rabbi Becher received his rabbinic ordination from the Chief Rabbinate of Israel and the Chief Rabbi of Jerusalem. He has co-authored two books on contemporary issues in Jewish law and has responded to thousands of legal, ethical and philosophical questions on the Ohr Somayach "Ask the Rabbi" website. His latest book, Gateway to Judaism, was recently published by Artscroll-Mesorah Press. Join Rabbi Becher on his new talk show as he analyzes, answers and debates all of your questions.
