Sussia, in the Southern Hebron Hills
Sussia - a city of Cohanim, over 1,500 years old. Less than a half hour south of Hebron, less than 45 minutes north of Beer Sheva, an amazing site, including a huge shul and a beautiful mosaic floor. Today Sussia was the site of a Brit Milah, not only one, rather of twin boys, born to a young couple, both of whom grew up in Hebron. Celebrating Jerusalem and Hebron Day
The 40th anniversary of the liberation of Jeruasalem and Hebron: the Kotel and Ma'arat HaMachpela. Forty years ago we came back home, liberating the holiest cities and sites in Israel: Jerusalem and the Kotel; Hebron and Ma'arat HaMachpela. In the future, the story of the return to Hebron will read like a legend, but it really happened. I heard it with my own ears from Rabbi Shlomo Goren zt"l. // And on another note: congratulations to Rabby Yehoshua Fass, being honored later this week at the OU dinner in Jerusalem!
